Airfields in Kyushu, Amami, and Okinawa
IJA and IJN built a lot of airfields in Kyushu to try intercept US aircraft. There were IJN Oroku, Kikaijima, Amami, Tanegashima, Kanoya, Kushiyoshi, Shibushi, Kasahara, Kagoshima, Iwakawa, Kokubu1, Kokubu2, Izumi, Miyazaki, Hitoyoshi, Tomioka, Isahaya, Tomie, Ohmura, Ohita, Usa, Tsuzuki. There were also IJA Kita (Yomitan), Naka (Kadena), Tokunoshima, Kamibeppu, Chiran, Mansei, Miyakonojyoh-higashi, Miyakonojyoh-nishi, Kiwaki, Nitttabara, Karasebara, Yatsushiro, Kumanosho, Takase, Kumamoto, Kikuchi, Kuroishibara, Chikugo, Medachibara, Tachiarai, Fukuoka, Karinosu, Ashiya and Sone.
